Weber Q2400 Electric Grill , Grey

The Weber Q 2400 is the new and updated version of the Weber Q 240. This updated model features a larger grip handle and larger control knobs, new ergonomic handles for the sides, and sturdy cradles for the front and rear.

This small grill boasts a 280 square inch cooking area and a 1560-watt heating element. The grates are porcelain-enameled cast iron to provide even heat distribution and easy cleaning. The lid and body of the grill are cast aluminum, and the nylon frame is glass-reinforced.

The entire body of the grill comes pre-assembled straight out of the box, and it’s very lightweight at only 42 pounds. Its size makes it an excellent option for travel, as long as there will be electricity where you’re going.

The Weber Q 2400 doesn’t have a built-in thermometer, but it does have infinite heat control settings for easy adjustment and control of the grill’s temperature level. It also features aluminum heat retention liners and a six-foot grounded cord.

You can use the grill on the ground, or it can be placed on a table or stand for more comfort. There are also portable carts explicitly designed for this grill available for purchase from Weber.

Detailed Review

Weber Q2400 Electric Grill , Grey

For this part of our Weber Q 2400 review, we’ll take a more detailed look at the quality of the Weber Q 2400’s design and build and how easy it is to assemble and use. We’ll also discuss how well it performs when grilling, how easy it is to clean, and its value for the price.

Design and Build Quality

The Weber Q 2400 has a compact design made with durable, high-quality materials for a small but hefty portable electric grill. At only 42 pounds, this grill is easy to move around with ergonomic side handles, so it travels well as long as there is an electrical source for power.

The power cord is a six-foot grounded cord, so there’s plenty of length for stretching to reach an outlet. Just make sure that if you have to use an extension cord, that it’s adequately rated for the grill for safety.

The cast aluminum lid and body are easy to clean and retain heat well, while the glass-reinforced nylon frame give this grill a sleek look that’s very sturdy. And the porcelain-enameled grates and removable catch pan make it easy to clean and maintain.

The grate materials also protect from rust and corrosion, and the grates come in two separate pieces, so you can remove one side and replace it with a griddle if desired.

The grill’s interior provides you with 280 square inches of cook space, allowing enough space for about 10 to 12 burgers or chicken breasts. With infinite heat control settings and aluminum heat retention liners, achieving a high temperature is no problem.

Most users will want to sit this grill on a table or other surface to put it at a comfortable height. It would be great if it came with a folding stand, but there is an optional portable cart with wheels that you can purchase separately.

Ease of Assembly

There is virtually no assembly required with the Weber Q 2400. It comes almost fully assembled right out of the box.

Simply attach the lid and handle to the grill using a regular Phillips head screwdriver, place the grates in their spots, and then you can plug it in and get straight to cooking on your new grill.

Ease of Use

Weber Q2400 Electric Grill , Grey

The simple design of the Weber Q 2400 makes it very easy to use, even for the novice griller. Plug it in, use the infinite heat control settings to set your desired temperature level, and let it preheat while you prep the food. It takes about 15 to 20 minutes to get up to full heat.

There is no worrying about discovering you’re out of propane or charcoal when you go to fire up the grill. The Weber Q 2400 is always ready to go and easy to start up. It can take a while to get accustomed to the heat controls and finding the desired level for some users, though.

One advantage of this electric grill is that its heat production is more consistent than gas or charcoal grills, so it’s very easy to get timings down to a science for meals you cook often. You also don’t have to worry about trying to avoid flare-ups with a grill like this one.

Performance

The performance of the Weber Q 2400 is outstanding, especially for an electric grill. Once it’s plugged in and you’ve set the desired temperature level, wait about 15 to 20 minutes while it preheats. If you allow it to preheat properly, this grill has no trouble reaching a high temperature.

Once preheated, it cooks very fast compared to other electric grills. So if you’ve used other sub-par electric grills and are used to waiting around for your food to cook through, this grill will surprise you.

The Weber Q 2400 achieves a nice sear with beautiful grill marks on your meats and vegetables and a nice, clean flavor. For those who prefer a more authentic barbeque or smoked flavor, you can simply add a smoker box with some wood chips of your choosing while grilling.

The heat distributes well with no hot or cold spots, and the grill retains the heat very well. Keep the lid closed as much as possible during the cooking process, as usual, but the grill’s temperature does get back up quickly when the lid is closed again.

The grill holds about 10 to 12 burgers or chicken breasts at a time, so one round readily serves about three to four people.

Ease of Cleanup

Cleaning the Weber Q 2400 is very simple and straightforward. Included with the grill is a removable aluminum catch pan that can be washed and reused or discarded and replaced.

Wiping down the cast iron cooking grates is easy thanks to their porcelain-enamel coating. They also come in two pieces, which makes it easier to remove and handle them when cleaning. For any stuck-on spots, a little light scrubbing is all that’s necessary.

The aluminum liners are also removable and easy to wipe down, and the corners of the grill body are curved, so it’s easier to get around the edges for a good clean.

Price

Weber is well-known for producing high-quality electric, gas, and charcoal grills that perform well and last a long time. A perfect example of this is the Weber Q 2400.

This grill is not cheap, but it is affordable. And for the quality of cook you get and how easy it is to use and clean, you get a lot of value for your money.

Weber made the Q 2400 to last due to its sturdy design and build and its high-quality materials. Many owners report that their grill still looks great and performs well many years later.

In the event of any issues with your grill, the Weber Q 2400 comes with a good warranty. The cook box, lid, porcelain-enameled cast-iron cooking grates, stainless steel burner tubes, and plastic components all have a five-year warranty. The warranty for all remaining parts is two years.

Summary

The Weber Q 2400 is one of the best electric grills on the market today and would make a great addition to your patio or balcony. There’s no need for anyone to miss out on the fun of a backyard summer cookout experience because of restrictions or lack of space.

Novice and seasoned grillers alike can enjoy this grill for its easy assembly, easy to use design, and exceptional performance.

In this Weber Q 2400 review, we determined that this grill provides an excellent grilling experience for the average small family at an affordable price. This grill is best for those in restricted condos or apartment buildings and anyone who wants a convenient grilling experience that comes in a compact package.

  1. I read your Review of the Weber Q 1400 two years ago and then bought one. Great little device. Only beef is a deep clean is a day’s chore … er for the local handyman. Is there a column on small smokers in the works?
